Google Analytics (GA4)

See GA4 engagement and revenue data alongside your Google Ads campaigns and landing pages

Google Ads tells you about the click. Google Analytics tells you what happened next — whether people engaged with your site, how far they got, and whether they converted or bought something.

Connect a GA4 property to a Google Ads account, and Adalysis brings that data into the platform as columns, right next to your existing Google Ads metrics. No exporting, no Looker Studio blending, no switching tabs to check GA4 for context on a campaign or landing page that looks off in Adalysis.

Where you'll see it

Once an account is linked, GA4 columns become available in the Columns picker on:

  • Manage > Campaigns > Campaigns

  • Manage > Landing pages > All final URLs

Add them alongside your existing performance columns, sort by them, and build the column layout you actually want to look at.

On Manage > Campaigns > Campaigns, you can also use GA4 metrics and key events in Filters and custom alerts, e.g. to be alerted when a campaign's GA4 bounce rate goes above 70%. Find out more about GA4 in filters.

You can also compare two time periods of GA4 data in the Performance Analyzer. Go to Performance > Analyzer and click Analyze GA4 data. Find out more in the Google Analytics data.

What you get

  • GA4 sessions

  • GA4 engaged sessions

  • GA4 engagement rate

  • GA4 bounce rate

  • GA4 avg. session (duration)

  • GA4 views

  • GA4 views / session

  • GA4 new users

  • GA4 revenue

  • GA4 purchase revenue

  • GA4 transactions

  • GA4 purchases

  • GA4 items purchased

  • GA4 revenue / session

  • GA4 AOV (average order value)

  • Up to 10 key events of your choice (the GA4 successor to "conversions"), each as its own column

Why this is useful

  • Spot campaigns or landing pages with good Google Ads metrics but poor on-site engagement (high bounce rate, short sessions) — or the reverse.

  • Compare GA4 revenue and key events against your Google Ads conversion data to sanity-check tracking, without leaving Adalysis.

  • Judge landing page quality using real user behavior (engagement rate, views per session), not just Google's landing page experience score.

  • Report on the metrics your client or team actually cares about, sourced from GA4, in the same grid you already use for audits and analysis.

  • Get alerted automatically when on-site engagement or GA4 revenue drops for a campaign, by saving a GA4 filter with alerts enabled.

Before you connect

  • The Google Ads account must already be linked to Adalysis.

  • Auto-tagging must be enabled on the Google Ads account. GA4 needs this to attribute sessions back to the right Google Ads account.

  • In Google Analytics, the Google Ads account must be linked to the GA4 property (Admin > Product links in GA4). Adalysis reads this link; it doesn't create it.

  • You'll need read access to the GA4 property you want to connect.

Adalysis only ever reads from Google Analytics — nothing is written back to GA4, and nothing in your GA4 setup is changed.

Setting it up

1

Open Integrations

Go to Settings > Integrations, then select the Google Analytics tab.

2

Connect a Google account

Find the Google Ads account you want to add GA4 data to and click Connect. If you haven't authorized a Google account for GA4 access yet, click Connect a Google account first.

You'll be sent to Google to sign in and approve access. Adalysis only requests read-only Analytics access — approving this doesn't affect your Google Ads or Analytics permissions elsewhere.

3

Choose the GA4 property

In the Connect Google Analytics dialog, select the GA4 property that corresponds to this Google Ads account from the dropdown.

4

Choose your key events

Select up to 10 key events from the property to bring in as columns — for example, purchases, form submissions, or sign-ups. These are the GA4 equivalent of conversions, and each one you select becomes its own column on the Campaigns screen.

5

Save

Save the link. Data will start appearing in your GA4 columns after the next nightly data download.

To connect additional Google Ads accounts to the same or a different property, repeat the steps above from the Google Analytics tab.

Managing your connections

The Google Analytics tab lists every Google account you've authorized and every Google Ads account you've connected, with its property, selected key events, and a status:

Status
What it means

Connected

Data is flowing normally.

No data

Adalysis can't confirm the link is working — usually auto-tagging is off in Google Ads, or the Ads account isn't linked to the GA4 property in Google Analytics itself.

Reconnect needed

Access has expired or been revoked. Click through and re-authorize.

Not checked yet

The link was just created and hasn't been validated by the nightly download yet.

To connect a different GA4 property to an account, or use a different Google account for the connection, click Change Google Analytics link / Use a different Google account next to the relevant row.

Disconnecting removes the GA4 columns for that account; it doesn't change anything in Google Ads or Google Analytics. It also deletes any saved filters and alerts that use GA4 data for that account. Changing the selected key events deletes the filters and alerts that use the key events you removed.
