MCP Server
Connect Adalysis to Claude, ChatGPT, or any AI assistant that supports custom connectors
What it is
The Adalysis MCP connector links your Adalysis account to your AI assistant. Once it's connected, you can ask questions about your Google Ads accounts in plain language, and the answers are built from your real Adalysis data: the same audits, budgets, search terms, and ad tests you see in the platform.
It can also make changes, with your approval. Seven tools can add and edit keywords, create and edit responsive search ads, change keyword and ad status, and edit Performance Max text assets. Every change is shown to you as a preview first, and nothing reaches Google Ads until you approve that exact preview.
It also respects the permissions you already have. When you connect it, the connector sees exactly the accounts you could already see when signed in to Adalysis. Not one account more.
What you need
An Adalysis account with at least one Google Ads account linked
An AI assistant that supports custom connectors. We've verified the connector with claude.ai and ChatGPT, and it works with any MCP-capable client.
The only thing you'll paste anywhere is this address:
https://mcp.adalysis.com/mcpThere's no API key to generate, copy, or store.
Setting it up
Setup is the same idea in every assistant: add a custom connector, paste the address above, then sign in to Adalysis and approve it. It takes about two minutes.
In claude.ai
Open Settings, then Connectors.
Choose Add custom connector.
Paste
https://mcp.adalysis.com/mcpinto the URL field.Leave Client ID and Client Secret blank. They're optional, and the Adalysis connector doesn't need them.
Click Add. Claude opens Adalysis in a new browser window.
Sign in to Adalysis as you normally would. If you're already signed in, you'll go straight through.
Click Allow on the consent screen.
That's it. You'll land back in Claude with the connector listed and ready to use.
In ChatGPT
Open Settings, then Plugins.
Scroll down and choose Browse plugins.
Click the + sign and paste
https://mcp.adalysis.com/mcpinto the Connection field.Click Create and confirm. ChatGPT opens Adalysis in a new browser window.
Sign in to Adalysis, then click Allow on the consent screen.
Other assistants
Any client that supports remote MCP connectors will work. Add a custom or remote connector, paste https://mcp.adalysis.com/mcp, and sign in when prompted. Menu names differ, the flow doesn't.
What you can ask
Below is everything the connector can answer, grouped the way you'd think about it. These are examples, not fixed commands. Ask in your own words.
Your accounts
How has this account done over the last 30 days compared with the 30 before it?
How is this account set up? Campaign types, bid strategies and targets, budgets, networks.
Show me every account side by side: cost, conversions, and conversion rates for last month.
What changed in this account recently, and who changed it?
Performance
Break last month down by campaign. Then by ad group. Then by keyword.
Show me daily conversions for the past six weeks.
How does performance differ by device, location, or time of day, and what bid modifier is on each row right now?
Keywords and search terms
Which keywords spent the most last month without converting?
What's my quality score, and is it expected CTR, ad relevance, or landing page experience dragging it down?
Where do I have duplicate or near-duplicate keywords competing with each other?
What search terms triggered my ads last week, and which campaigns and ad groups did they land in?
What recurring words and phrases show up across my search terms, and how does each one perform?
Which negative keyword housekeeping suggestions are outstanding?
Ads and creative
List the ads in this campaign with their text, performance, ad strength, and approval status.
Which RSA headlines and descriptions perform best across the whole account?
Which copy patterns work in this account, and is the difference statistically meaningful?
Do any of my ad tests have a winner yet, and at what confidence?
Budgets
Which budgets are pacing to overspend this month?
Where am I losing impression share to budget?
Which capped budgets are performing well enough to deserve more money?
Run a what-if: if I wanted to shift spend toward my best-performing budgets, what would the new daily amounts look like?
The what-if is a projection only. Nothing is applied to your account, in Adalysis or in Google Ads.
Bidding
What bid adjustments would Adalysis suggest here, and how do they compare with the modifiers I have in place?
Which campaigns have a bid strategy flagged for review?
Audits and alerts
What's this account's audit score, how has it moved over the last month, and what are the current findings?
Show me the entities behind that alert and the figures that triggered it.
How much is outstanding across every account I manage?
Landing pages
Which landing pages get the most spend, and how do they convert?
Are any destination URLs broken? Check final, mobile, keyword, and extension URLs.
Example prompts
Paste any of these straight into your assistant.
Which of my Google Ads accounts had the biggest drop in conversions last month compared with the month before? Show the top five by percentage change.
Give me the audit score for [account name], how it's moved over the past month, and the three findings I should deal with first.
Find search terms from the last 30 days that spent over $100 with no conversions. Group them by campaign and tell me which ones look like negative keyword candidates.
Which budgets are capped but performing well? For each one, tell me how much impression share I'm losing to budget.
Look at my responsive search ad headlines across the account. Which ones consistently outperform, and which ones should I retire?
Do I have any ad tests with a statistically significant winner right now? List the ad group, the winning ad, and the confidence level.
Check [account name] for broken destination URLs and duplicate keywords, then write me a short summary I can send to a client.
Compare all my accounts on cost, conversions, and cost per conversion for last quarter, and tell me which two need attention first.
Making changes
What it can change

Headlines, descriptions, pins, final URL, display paths and labels
One ad per request; 3–15 headlines, 2–4 descriptions
Edit a responsive search ad
Rewrite all of its text, or edit, pin or remove individual headlines and descriptions; change final URL, paths, mobile URL and tracking template
Up to 15 edits per request
Change ad status
Enable, pause or remove responsive search ads and text ads
Up to 50 ads per request
Edit Performance Max text assets
Add, replace or remove headlines, long headlines and descriptions in an asset group
Up to 30 changes per request
Good to know:
Changing a keyword's match type creates a new keyword and removes the old one, because Google can't change match type in place. The old keyword's history doesn't carry over and its labels aren't copied. The preview tells you this.
Editing an ad keeps the ad and its history. A headline or description whose text you change counts as a new asset to Google, so that asset's own history starts again.
Max CPC is only applied in Manual CPC campaigns. If a campaign uses Smart Bidding, the preview marks the keyword as skipped.
Performance Max: Google's limits are checked before anything is sent (for example, at least 3 and at most 15 headlines). Assets Google created automatically can't be replaced or removed. Images, videos, logos and business name aren't supported.
New and edited ads and keywords go through Google's normal policy review.
How approval works
Ask for the change in plain language, for example "Pause these three keywords in the Brand campaign."
Review the preview. The assistant shows exactly what would change: each keyword or ad, its current and new values, recent performance, and any warnings (such as a weak ad strength or a duplicate keyword). Nothing has changed yet.
Approve it. How you approve depends on your assistant:
Some assistants show an approval dialog from Adalysis inside the chat.
Others (including claude.ai and ChatGPT) give you a link to a Review changes page in Adalysis. Open it, check the changes and click Approve these changes or Decline.
Apply. Go back to your assistant and tell it to apply. It applies exactly what you approved and reports what changed.
Safeguards built into every change:
A preview expires after 10 minutes and can be applied once. After that, ask for a new preview.
If anything changes in between, the apply is refused and nothing is changed. That covers someone else editing the ad or keyword, or the request being different from what you previewed. Ask for a new preview.
You approve as yourself. The Review changes page only accepts approval from the same Adalysis user who connected the assistant. You must be signed in.
Permissions carry over. Users with read-only access in Adalysis can't make changes through the connector.
Rate limit: up to 10 changes per minute per connection.
Example prompts for changes
Add these keywords as phrase match, paused, to the "Running shoes" ad group: trail running shoes, waterproof running shoes, wide fit running shoes.
Pause every keyword in [account name] that spent over $200 in the last 30 days with no conversions. Show me the preview first.
Create a new responsive search ad in the "Brand" ad group using the five best-performing headlines in the account, plus three new ones. Pin our brand name to headline 1. Create it paused.
In ad 123456789, replace the headline "Free Shipping" with "Free Next-Day Delivery".
Change the final URL of these keywords to https://example.com/sale.
Add three new long headlines to the "Summer sale" Performance Max asset group and remove the lowest-performing one.
What it cannot do
It cannot change anything without your approval. Every change is previewed first and applied only after you approve it in Adalysis.
Only the changes listed above. The connector can't change budgets, bid strategies, campaign or ad group settings, negative keywords, extensions, image or display ads, or your Adalysis settings. The budget what-if is still a projection only.
Google Ads only. Microsoft Advertising accounts aren't available through the connector, even if they're linked in your Adalysis account.
It works on Adalysis data. If a Google Ads account isn't linked to Adalysis, the connector can't see it. Link it in Adalysis first, and give it time to pull data in.
It sees what you see. Permissions carry over exactly. The connector never widens your access.
Privacy and access
When you connect, your assistant is authorized to read Adalysis data for the accounts you already have access to, and to make the changes you approve in those accounts. Data is sent to your AI assistant only in response to your questions, and how that provider handles it is governed by their terms, not ours. Adalysis doesn't share your data with any other party through the connector.
Full details are in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Turning it off
You can cut off access at any time, from Adalysis:
Sign in to Adalysis.
Go to Settings → Integrations.
Find the key named after your connector and delete it.
Access stops immediately. Your assistant can no longer read anything from Adalysis or make changes, and any previews waiting for approval can't be applied.
Troubleshooting
I connected it, but nothing happens when I ask a question. Check that the connector is switched on for the conversation you're in. Most assistants list connectors separately from your account settings, and some default to off. Then ask a direct question that clearly needs your data, such as "List the Google Ads accounts I can access in Adalysis." If that returns your accounts, you're connected.
My assistant says it can't see one of my accounts. Three things to check, in order:
Is it a Microsoft Advertising account? Those aren't available through the connector.
Is the account linked in Adalysis? The connector only reads what's in Adalysis.
Can you see the account yourself when signed in to Adalysis? The connector inherits your permissions exactly. If a colleague can see it and you can't, that's a permissions question for whoever administers your Adalysis account.
It worked before and now it doesn't. The most likely cause is that the connector's key was deleted under Settings → Integrations, by you or by someone else on your team. That revokes access immediately. Reconnect by running through the setup steps again.
The sign-in window opened and then closed without connecting. Check that your browser isn't blocking pop-ups for adalysis.com, then try again. If you're signed in to more than one Adalysis account in the same browser, sign out of all of them first and sign in to the one you want to connect.
I don't see the change tools. If you connected before the change tools were released, your assistant may still have the old tool list. Disconnect the connector and connect it again.
The approval link says "Approval unavailable". The preview has expired (after 10 minutes), was already used, or was declined. Ask your assistant for a new preview. Nothing was applied.
I can't approve on the Review changes page. Make sure you're signed in to Adalysis as the same user who connected the assistant, and that your user has edit access to the account. If you were signed in before this feature was released, sign out and sign in again.
My assistant says the apply was refused because something changed. The keyword, ad or asset group changed after you previewed it, or the request was different from the preview. Nothing was changed. Ask for a new preview.
My assistant says the change "may have been applied". The request timed out or failed partway through, after it was sent to Google. Don't retry straight away. Ask your assistant to preview the same change again: anything already applied will show as unchanged or skipped.
ChatGPT says it blocked the request. ChatGPT runs its own safety checks and sometimes blocks a change, especially a removal, before it reaches Adalysis. Nothing was changed. You can make that change in Adalysis directly. ChatGPT's connector permission setting also controls whether it asks you before using a tool.
