Adalysis makes it easy to automate your search term analysis. This guide covers the most important search term alerts, and how to use them effectively.

### The Search term alerts

There are three key alerts, which can be customized to suit your account:

1. **Search terms to add as keywords**
2. **Search terms to add as negative keywords**

For example, if you have a strict CPA target, you can update your settings with:

* A minimum number of conversions
* Your CPA target
* An auto resolve that adds new keywords in exact match

This means you'll only get alerts that are relevant to your account goals, as well as a fully automated workflow.

3. **Duplicate search terms**

Duplicate search terms occur when the same query is matched across multiple ad groups. This reduces your control over which ads are shown and splits performance data.

To fix this, identify the best-performing ad group for the query. Then add negative keywords to the other ad groups so traffic is routed to the most relevant place. You can do this straight from the audit alert:

### The Search terms screen

You can find filters matching the alerts in **Manage** > **Search terms**. This alternative workflow lets you choose an ad group when adding top-performing terms as keywords.

Simply load the **Potential positive keyword** filter, select one or more search terms, and choose **Add as keyword**. (Or **Add as negative keyword**.)

### Create custom alerts for deeper insights

For example, you might create an alert for high-volume but expensive search terms:

* More than a set number of conversions (for example, 5+)
* CPA above your target
* Not already added as an exact match keyword

<figure><img src="https://3203600314-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FGlXujWJyreRidNjZDCw2%2Fuploads%2FzcbvSX9AMWX4e4rgRhpe%2Fcustom%20alert%20st.png?alt=media&#x26;token=5f89c31d-973c-48ea-be4e-4051af8dc387" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Combining a prebuilt and custom alert means you can automatically add search terms under your CPA as keywords. You can also review more expensive terms through your custom alert.
