# Performance Max optimization

{% embed url="<https://youtu.be/ngMPcjiyy2M>" %}

Adalysis PMax tools help you analyze performance, optimize assets, and manage search terms from one place.

### Monitor PMax audit alerts

Under **Audit** > **Audit alerts**, filter for PMax to see the results of prebuilt audit checks.

[See the full list of PMax alerts](/tools/audit/prebuilt-alert-list/pmax-campaigns.md)

### **Control PMax search terms**

<div align="left"><figure><img src="/files/hXI8GMufkk08xj3Cd6Ia" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Go to **Manage** > **Search terms** > **PMax** to view search terms from your Performance Max campaigns. Here you can see:

* The campaign each search term came from
* If a PMax search term exists as a keyword in a Search campaign
* If a PMax search term is also a search term in a Search campaign
* If a PMax search term exists as a keyword in a Shopping campaign
* Performance data
* Search terms blocked by existing negatives

Select search terms to add them as keywords in a search ad group, or as account/campaign-level negatives.

{% hint style="success" %}
**Search terms overlap** provides one-click summaries of affected terms.
{% endhint %}

### Visualize PMax channel performance

You can also analyze PMax results by channel at the campaign, asset group, and asset level under **Manage** > **PMax** > **Channels**.

### Analyze and edit your assets

<figure><img src="/files/zLNcEzJ965pApnw6ofgQ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Go to **Manage** > **PMax** > **Asset groups** menu to see your Performance Max performance breakdown:

* Sort your data by campaign and asset group
* Confirm if audience signals have been used
* See at a glance if any groups are missing assets
* See if there are automatically generated videos
* View performance data for each asset group

Click any asset count to see individual assets with their performance rating, approval status, and source. (Data provided by Google for each asset.) You can also edit or remove existing text assets and add new ones.

<figure><img src="/files/MfBJ6BZX0lgq9vXvo3Tv" alt="" width="503"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Then, switch to **Manage** > **PMax** > **Assets** for asset-level data.

{% hint style="info" %}
The [RSA manager](/manage/ads/rsas/manage-your-rsa-assets.md) now also supports PMax assets.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

### View and exclude PMax placements

You can view and exclude PMax placements in **Manage** > **Placements** > **PMax**. This includes site domains and impression counts for your PMax campaigns.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.adalysis.com/manage/campaigns/performance-max-optimization.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
